The club was represented by all of its membership groups on Sunday 12th October at the Bedford Small Boats Head. Juniors, seniors, veterans and adaptive rowers all raced on behalf of the club in a total of 20 events. Of 400 rowers taking part, the Guildford adaptives were the only para rowers. Guy Williams medalled as the fastest adaptive rower. In addition to this win there were wins for the novice mens double sculls, the masters mens double sculls and the womens novice coxed quad. The juniors also acquitted themselves well with one rower adding a third place in the single scull to her success in the summer regatta season.
This weekend was the British Rowing Championships at Nottingham Holme Pierrepoint National Rowing Centre which is the only time international competitors are able to attend the Senior Championships under their home club colours, outside the normal international training and competition schedule. Mark was rowing for Guildford in the 1x LTA category and in very tough racing conditions won a bronze medal in a time of 10.53 for the grueling 2,000m course. This is a fantastic result at this top racing event and many congratulations go to Mark for this achievement.
