Members of the Guildford Rowing Club committee attended the British Rowing Leader’s Conference 2026

On Sunday, 8 February  representatives from over 150 clubs across the country came together for a day of learning, discussion, and collaboration. The conference provided a valuable opportunity to network with other rowing clubs, share best practice and innovative ideas, and gain fresh perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing community sports organisations.

Key sessions focused on funding opportunities for clubs, coaching pathways and qualifications to support the development of high-quality, safe, and inclusive coaching, and themes of responsibility and liability. Significant updates were shared on governance, safeguarding, and risk management, including British Rowing’s plans relating to increased training opportunities for coaches and club leaders.

Food for thought, and some exciting and important insights were gained at the conference to support the continued success of Guildford Rowing Club.
